We rescue Jews in Danger – we’re the 000 of the Jewish people

Jews around the world still face threats – anti-Semitism, violence, and social and economic upheaval. While our priority is to help Jewish communities live safely where they choose, when those threats endanger Jewish lives or Jewish life, we’re there with the boots on the ground and know-how to take them out of harm’s way. And we will continue to be there at a moment’s notice, wherever we are needed.

Over a million Jews rescued since 1914 by The Joint and our partners.

March 1915

JDC sent $1.5 million and 900 tonnes of food and medicine to Palestine on the S.S. Vulcan. A second shipment was made the following year.

The Joint worked to bring 440,000 Jews to Israel, over 270,000 from Europe’s DP Camps and nearly 170,000 from North Africa and the Middle East.

The Joint brought 25,000 Jews to Australia from Nazi ravaged Europe, including many of today’s senior communal leaders; and helped them start new lives and build the Australian community.
