An open day of exploration and discovery into the origins of our modern Australian Jewish community and the stories of migration and immigration that made us.

Behind The Scenes: Discover special items from the Jewish Museum’s collection relating to The Joint’s rescue and resettlement of thousands of Jewish refugees in Australia after the Holocaust. Meet the Jewish Museum’s exhibition and collections team and learn how the Museum cares for and uses objects to bring stories to life.

Personal Recording Studio: Share your personal story of emigration and immigration on tape with our on-site historians to be recorded for posterity.Play Historian: Help us to identify anonymous faces in photos of emigration and immigration to Australia from the 1940’s and 1950’s.

Panel Discussion ‘Restoring Tomorrow’: Join us at 3 pm for a deep dive into the past and present of Jewish communities at home and abroad featuring an all-star panel including Professor Andrew Markus, Dr. Margaret Taft,Emmanuel Gruzman, Dr. Erica Frydenberg and a returning young adult volunteer as part of The Joint’s Entwine Volunteer Abroad programme.
